The story

The Lanz HL, also called the Bulldog HL or HL 12, was the first Lanz tractor to use the single-cylinder Bulldog engine, an Akroyd-type design. That makes it the first Lanz Bulldog built in series.

The German engineer Fritz Huber developed it, and it made its debut at the 1921 DLG agricultural show in Leipzig. It stayed in production until 1927, by which time more than 6,000 had been made.

The tractor had no gearbox and could be fitted with steel or rubber wheels. Its engine was also sold on its own for stationary work.

Did you knowThe HL had no gearbox at all, and its top speed was only about 4.2 km/h.
