The story

The Cockshutt 550 was a row-crop tractor built by the Cockshutt Plow Company from 1958 to 1961. It replaced the Cockshutt 35 Golden Arrow and could pull two or three ploughs.

Power came from a Hercules four-cylinder petrol engine of 3.2 litres. Its bodywork followed the fashion of the time for squarer lines, setting it apart from earlier Cockshutt tractors.

In 1962 it was replaced by a different tractor built by Oliver, which was also sold as the Cockshutt 550.

Did you knowThere were two different Cockshutt 550s: the original, and an Oliver-built tractor that took the same name from 1962.
